Is this unfixable?

Hi, My ibook was on sleep with my nano connected to it charging but without the "do not disconnect" sign showing. i disconnected it and the computer started up and said that i disconnected a piece of hardware without ejecting. it wiped the nano, but i reset it and it seems to be in working order, but whenever i connect it to the computer and open itunes, itunes quits unexpectedly. why is this and how do i fix it? or can i?

anytime you disconnect the iPod from any type of computer you must saftely remove it by ejecting it from the system

please read this article to keep from damaging your computer or the ipod itself

if you're manually opening itunes.. try letting itunes launch on its own... if it doesnt then it is possible that there is a problem with the itunes software

check this article out

make sure you have all ur mac updates

also make sure you have the latest version of itunes and the iPod updater
