Listen up folks...
Apple bloated about this amazing fit and finish that no other smartphone has. They went on the keynote talking about this amazing iPhone ever. They bragged about it.
If you bought your phone, you have a right to demand that you get a perfect unit as stated on the Apple.com website and also on the keynote.
If they can not meet your standards of producing a good phone, demand an exchange or refund. You will be given a refund as they are not able to meet what they promised they could do.
If everyone started requesting refunds, Apple would step up quality control. You should not have to settle for anything less! I returned my iPhone 5 and will revisit it in the next batch. You have 30 days from Apple I suggest DOING SO!
Call customer relations and keep complaining. They need to remove the over hyped marketing on the website as it is BS!
Reading this thread makes me so happy that I did not jump into the iPhone bandwagon.
Seems llike everybody is exchanging their units, morevoer, it also seems like that the replacement is as flawed as the initial unit.
I can just imagine how many returned units are piling up. . ..
So much for the Apple high quality reputation.
iSheeps are definitely losing faith in their dead shepherd.
iPhone5 32GB Black, 2 days old and there are some small scuffs, and nicks starting to appear around the coating to bevelled edge that show through to the aluminium underneath. I am really surprised and disappointed by this - I wonder if after two days it looks like this, what will it look like after two months?
I have every freeking problem on my iphone5 as described in all the forums here... dropping signal when LTE is on , horrizontal lines in app store , dimming of screen to minium by itself, it dosent reconnect to signal if i am out of coverage area for more than 10 mins like in my lab which in in the basement, it gets too hot after a few minutes of gaming, and battery Suks. And its fcukng prone to scratches.
Now the best part they replaced my phone and my replacement phone has the same all problems , so i know this is in all the phones for sure ( because my friends have the same problems in their iphone5 as well) and NOW WE CANT EVEN RETURN OUR PHONES BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED. FCUK you apple and your iphones. As holes. They fcukng tricked me into replacing my new phone with a service phone so that i cant return it.
I have 64GB white ATT.
This whole mess is because of one thing!
They pushed the manufacture of this phone through inexperienced factory workers with inadequate training and then they over-worked these workers withy little sleep and bad conditions.
It took me 4 iph5's to get one with no scuffs but my confidence is still rock bottom as I am sure there are still parts in the case that have not been fitted properly with the due care that should happen.
If you look at the ifixit strip down of the ip5, it's no wonder the soft aluminium got scratched and scuffed trying to push and fit all of the parts in there.
And still...... Nothing from apple!
Mine was replaced in store so like the rest I am screwed also as cannot go back to the original retailer.
What a fantastic idea!
I bet there will be no infringements in copying this idea as it is so so ludicrous.
Must watch the manufacturing video again....
Like a fine timepiece?
A timepiece the loses time, then gains time, then swaps the minute hand for the hour hand, the second hand goes the wrong way and it can't be worn as the bracelet ever snaps or reacts to human skin.
What a sound investment by us all!
To be fair I know the iPhone 4 had its issues but build quality was not one of them! Certainly not to this level!
By chance I had a meeting today with a company that specialises in metal work. Particularly in some areas the anodising process.
It was described as being an incomplete process with regards to the iPhone 5. I can't name names as they are well known in the industry but they make many anodised pieces an example of which being torches. These get thrown around, slung in tool boxes etc and they are in a much better condition.
A holding payment for them to send me another phone. When I asked if it was going to be a new retail boxed phone this was something they could not guarantee.
But......" Our service parts are new phones and there is no difference"
My argument..., "if they are the same then can you not just send me a retail boxed one then?"
