Q: MAJOR ISSUE* permissions mountain lion

ok here is my situation: yesterday i went to upgrade flip4mac 3 beta 2 in order to watch a particular movie. i download and attempt install but it hangs....try again hang again. finally i gave up and thought nothing of it figured i would try again today. well i go to uninstall flip4mac and again hang pinwheel. over and over. then i attempt to uninstall a different app same thing.  THE GIST IS THIS..... i am unable to do any admin related task as it will end in spinning pinwheel. i have done a fair share of research and  permission fixing and SMART disc scanning to no avail. I feel like the only option would be a re install of my OS however i figured before i took such an extreme i would stop by here and see if anyone else is familiar with my issue or how to fix it. id like to add that upon checking and repairing permissions that i have noticed that securityagent.app seems to be the culprit. how i came to this conclusion is :

Repairing permissions for “Infiniti”

Permissions differ on “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /Authentication.nib”; should be -rw-r--r-- ; they are drw-r--r-- .

Repaired “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /Authentication.nib”

Permissions differ on “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /ConfirmAccess.nib”; should be -rw-r--r-- ; they are drw-r--r-- .

Repaired “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /ConfirmAccess.nib”

Permissions differ on “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /GenericPassphrase.nib”; should be -rw-r--r-- ; they are drw-r--r-- .

Repaired “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /GenericPassphrase.nib”

Permissions differ on “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /KeychainPassphrase.nib”; should be -rw-r--r-- ; they are drw-r--r-- .

Repaired “System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj /KeychainPassphrase.nib”

Permissions repair complete

now upon repair i scan again and permissions still "differ" from what i guess they are supposed to be

PLEASE HELP

    As long as the report ends up with 'Permissions repair complete' then, as far as permissions go, you are fine. You can ignore the various statements in the report:

    Permissions you can ignore on 10.5 onwards:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448

    Using 'should be -rw-r--r-- , they are lrw-r--r--' as an example, you will see the that the permissions are not changed, but the | indicates a different location. This is because an update to Leopard onwards changed the location of a number of system components.

    Poster rccharles has provided this description of what it all means:

    drwxrwxrwx

    d = directory

    r = read

    w = write

    x = executeable program

    drwxrwxrwx

    |  |  |

    |  |   all other users not in first two types

    |  |

    |  group

    owner

    a little more info

    Before the user had read & write. A member of the group had read.

    After, only the user had read & write.

    i didnt see securityagent.app in that post but either way i'm very keen on my system and ive never noticed these messages before today. and to add when i click the padlock to make a system change that would generally require my password i again get spinning (and never ending) pinwheel. im going to add my most recent console report. note* this is after trying to unlock a pad lock and after trying to run an uninstaller

    Your problem has nothing to do with permissions and everything to do with the fact that you installed a beta-quality system modification.
