i was having issue where the *album* sort in iphoto was not being carried over to itunes (except i was able to resort 1 album in iphoto and it showed up that way in itunes - but i couldn't get the others to follow suit and i lost track of exactly how i did it).
i followed ira w's "sort technique" of my albums - one by one - in iphoto and it worked in itunes.
yaaaaaaaa ira w!
there needs to be a "refresh" command to sync iphoto with itunes to push to the iphone AND apple tv. it's way to tricky to get recently imported photos to appear on apple tv without "tricking" it...
good luck everyone else.

does anyone still have the problem even with 9.4.1.? this thread seems to cool down a little bit but the problem of not showing the correct amount of photos in events in itunes remains... i tried deleting ipod photo cache, iphoto.plist, album.xml and repairing database, removing all the ampersands... and the bug is still there. i only get 1705 of my 30000+ photos to my ipad. i do not want any turnaround or photo export and re-import, i simply wanna have fixed it. please, apple, hear meeeee!!!

I'm still having the problem, mine is about faces i've never hadin my library. They are not in the iPhoto library but I see them in iTunes and on my devices...even if I uncheck them

I don't have the bug since I fixed the problem manually (ie dragged all the photos out, made a new library, dragged them back in again) and my library is around 40gb smaller and runs much faster. Ultimately though, this is a major screw up by Apple that they need to sort out.

My library was 52 gb smaller as i posted a few days ago doing the same and crating a new library.
The reason that the file is much smaller could and most lightly in my case is down to the amount of edititng i have done on 22,000 photos as iPhoto keeps the origional as well as the edit.. check it out ..
Just finished all the faces and my HDD has failed (timemachine better work)

The problem is that if I delete the whole library I loose of my faces settings and it's boring doing that again!

I have still the same problems. The other day I rebuilt my library and now it works but I lost all my faces, etc. It's a shame that there is no help at all to avoid this. In any case I kept my old library hoping that I can use it anytime again.

Can you please check if there is a ApertureData.xml updated in your IPhoto library instead of AlbumData.xml?
This is still my problem: iPhoto creates ApertureData.xml and leaves AlbumData.xml untouched. Therefore iTunes does not update events and albums.

They released the iPhone 9.4.2 and FINALLY the ghost faces disappeared. Yeah!

I also still have the ghost events which was 100% of my problem. Additionally, iPhoto has now crashed twice and appears less stable than before.

9.4.2 fixed a bit more...but still about 10% broken for me.
Specifically, iTunes and TV report having less photos in a given Event than does iPhoto itself. Basically, this means that I can never sync some of the photos in iPhoto to an iOS to TV device.
I assume most everyone else is seeing this as well...please post your results :-)

rwross1776, i am still having these problems too after the update. iTunes still shows events with far less photos in it than in iPhoto events. It's getting really annoying, I can't use my iPad as a photo album since only new photos and videos seem to be synced. Does no one at Apple read this post?! I am reporting and reporting to them, but no one cares :-(

Just updated to 9.4.2. Actually, it seems to have fixed all my problems. No more ghost events or albums. Not even duplicate faces. So as far as what it appears to be in iTunes, it all looks normal now. But the only problem now is, certain albums synced to my iPad are not shown in the same order as in iPhoto. Tried delete the album.xml and the iPod cache without luck. I guess I can live with that for the time being. And FYI, I updated from 9.3.2, after a restore from Time Machine. Tried both 9.4 and 9.4.1, and both versions did not speak well with iTunes at all...

Yeah same here. Different order and the main picture of each event on my devices is not the same as on iPhoto
