Just received iPhone and it is burning hot

Granted I live in high temperatures of over 100 this time of year, but is it safe to say do not touch and turn my new IPhone 5 on until maybe an hour of cool down time. No one leaves their phone in the car for even 10 minutes .... why leave an electornic high end device in an unairconditioned truck all day? WoW-just WoW!
