I'm trying to find a way to export my recent FCP X project to ATV 2nd gen (720p) format while maintaining the 6 audio channels (AC3). Everytime I export, the audio is converted to 2 channels (stereo). Is there a way around this?

After looking at the Audio Metre in FCP X, I discovered that the project is set for 2 audio channels (Stereo). My source clips are all AC3 encoded. How do you change the project to 6 audio channels?

You have to change the project properties Cmd-J. Click the wrench in the lower right and change the audio channels from stereo to surround.
Thanks so much Tom! That fixed my project settings problem.
However, when I go to export, the audio settings are still set to Stereo ... 😟.
How are you exporting. Most export outputs don't have surround out.
I was able to keep my surround sound audio by selecting Current Settings in the Export Media window. I believe this did not perform any compression on the final output file as it generated the file very fast. I am using PavTube HD Video Converter to convert to Apple TV format with Dolby Digital Pass-through.
