I too am having issues with the bluetooth on the iPhone5 in my brand new Acura TL 2012.  At first I had to attempt the original connection 3 times before my iPhone would pair.  Once it paired it started playing my bluetooth audio and then cut out.  'NO CONNECT' appeared on my display in the car.  It would then go back to connect but the audio for the phone would no longer play.  It keeps doing this when I originally start the car and then goes away.  Apple, I hope you will deliver an update to the software soon.

I also removed all my other devices and still had the same problem with the connection.  It would pair but could not keep the connection.

Well with my 2011 Pathfinder I have for the last 3 days switched off bluetooth on the iPhone prior to getting in the vehicle, start engine and vehicle bluetooth starts searching, turn on bluetooth on iPhone and it connects, not failed this way yet, so next week I will go back to leaving the buetooth on all the time on the iPhone and see if it fails to connect as it has been over the last couple of weeks, it may not because  I also reset the network.

I am also having the same issue. My phone is able to connect ot the bluetooth but with a loss in functionality. I can no longer shuffle or replay songs via the car head unit. It is frustrating.

How do you clear the settings or reboot the Panasonic Bluetooth phone to clear out the settings?

Panasonic support sent me an email telling me that they are currently NOT supporting the iPhone 5.  This upsets me since I just purchased the phones 2 months ago.

I finally found on page 55 of my Panasonic Bluetooth Link to Connect phone how to clear out the previous BlueTooth settings.

Once this was done, just like on my 2012 Terrain, I was able to connect my iPhone 5 to the cordless phone system.

    The process is:

    Using your Panasonic headset:

    Menu

    #622

Select the Bluetooth pairing and delete the setting.

Once the setting is deleted start the pairing process over.

    #6241 for the first phone

    #6242 for the second phone

I also notified Panasonic Tech support how to fix the problem with the Panasonic Link to Connect phones.

    drtidmor:

Any luck?  I too have this problem w/ my Lexus' bluetooth.  My wife has watch videos while I'm driving & noticed on the iPhone 5 is lagging.  Voice first the video behind or vice versa.  Her 4S with iOS 6 does NOT have this problem.  I'll be calling Apple next week.  Let me know if you found a solution.

    Thanks.

The problem remains with no solution.  I contacted Apple and all they did was log that I had this problem.  As you have found the IP4S on iOS6 does NOT exhibit the audio lag that is present in the IP5 via Bluetooth.  I also took mine into the Apple store and we verified that it was present on a few other IP5s.  Interestingly enough, I have found that FaceTime does NOT have the audio lag via Bluetooth and if there is ANYTHING else keeping Bluetooth active (say a FT call), the lag from the clicks vanishes. For the moment we are likely forced to live with the situation.

I was having issues connecting to my car stereo and figured out that if I connected through the setup menu for the stereo it would work but then wouldn't reconnect, but if I connected through the voice activation it worked and paired automatically whenever I tuned the car on again! I also deleted any previously paired phones. Hope this helps!

Hi guys, here's a list of the hardware that i have, iOS device, iOS version installed on the iDevices and the results of bluetooth connectivity.

    - Dr Dre Wireless Headphones

    - iPhone 3GS on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    - iPhone 4 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    - iPhone 4S on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    - iPhone 5 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    - iPad 2 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    - iPad 3 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

    Now for the results:

    - Every iDevices listed up there USED TO WORK perfectly on iOS 5 except iPhone 5 because this iDevice didn't exist.

    - iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 all WORK FLAWLESSLY with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones even on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 2.1 + EDR only (Apple SPECS).

    - iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPad 3 all DON'T WORK with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 4.0 (Apple SPECS).

It would seem that Apple is not using the same HARDWARE DRIVER and this seems to the basis of the problems with bluetooth headphone (i can't confirm anything for you people with car problems but BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES i can confirm since i have several brands with all the same results).

The problem that i have and i'm pretty sure most of you have with bluetooth headphones is connectivity DROPS or sound THAT STOPS PLAYING although the iPhone STILL THINK that it's sending sound to your headphones BUT no sound can be heard.

I will send this BUG report to Apple and see what happens ... and if you have the same problems ... why don't you  send my bug report as well unless you guys think it's not clear enough or not well documented.

If i turn the iPhone bluetooth off and then back on WITHOUT touching the headphones it works for a couple of minutes and then it stops again.

I went through days of confusion regarding my car's bluetooth and my IPhone 5. Here's what ended up being the solution for me:

Got new phone, AT&T activated, hooked up my car's bluetooth, everything was fine (I have a 2010 VW Jetta Sportswagon and had had an Iphone 4 hooked up earlier with no problems). Next morning, no connection, nothing I did worked. Spent hours on phone with three different Apple Care people: reset network, reset operating system, stood on my head, nothing.

Went back to Apple next day; great Genius guy came out to my car, saw the problem, tried his Iphone 5, no problem...we figured it was a bum phone. He got me a new phone, set it up, Bluetooth fine, happy girl. Next morning, SAME PROBLEM. Couldn't hook it up no matter what. Grrrrrrr. Set up another Genius appt.

Then I did more research. Found a post where the person suggested you change the name on your phone via ITunes (you can also do it right on your phone: Settings > General > About > Name). Hadn't thought of that. Didn't remember setting the name on either phone but reset my phone's name. Went out to the car: voila! It worked. It's been working ever since.

Clearly the problem was not the phone but the fact that the car bluetooth recognized the name but had it linked to the old phone, not the new one; hence the problem.

It's been working fine since so I'm confident that was the bug. I was so relieved to get that suggestion from someone else, I wanted to pass it on in hopes of relieving someone else...it's a very frustrating problem when you can't figure out!

Googling this issue i got here and I too experience the said issues as everyone else I DID find something "antennagate" weird, When i paired my phone to say a bluetooth speaker or even my car's audio (2012 Subaru WRX) and like put the upper part of my phone under say my armpit or between my legs (as to cover it) it lost its signal, it just stopped transmitting so as a few have stated, I think its more a hardware issue than software alone. Can anyone else try this and confirm?

    Thanks!

My iPhone 5 is not working nearly as well as my 4 was with my 2012 Ford Focus.  20% of the time the phone does not connect to my audio system.  Sometimes bluetooth connects only to stream audio but there is no connection to the phone calling aspect.  This is incredibly frustrating.  I'm stuck with a phone that performs poorly for the tasks that I use it the most with.
