flickering/ghosting keyboard on iphone 5?

When I enter my password in the app store, lines begin to flicker across rows of the keyboard.

Here is an example. This has happened on my last two visits to the app store. The first two or three times there was no problem. This is the only context in which I observe the flickering keyboard. Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes indeed. That's why I'm here after I found out that I'm not alone with this issue which is a good thing in this case. Looking to see what he solution will be. Flickering when entering password when downloading from the App store. Funny thing is that this is the first time this has happened. Only have had the phone for 3 days. I'm on day 4 now.

Yes, I just had this happen on my iPhone 5. I tried to get a picture of it but it went away too fast. My static noise flickering retina display screen glitch appeared towards the top of the keyboard and was several colors. I was downloading an app and inputing my Apple password when it happened.

I hope this is a software problem and not a hardware problem. Please let me know what you think?

I will stay posted to this thread!

I don't understand why people are so concerned about this,

or hopeful that it is a software problem and not hardware.

Does it matter? Apple is going to fix it.

Didn't we all choose the iPhone because apple makes great products?

Sure, post a message on the board so that the engineers, or whoever

can maybe get an idea of how many phones are experiencing

the problem, and to devise a repair.

But other than that??

Keep calm

The reason folks are complaining and making it aware to everyone here is the simple fact that everyone has spent at least $199 and up in order to use a phone that is supposed to be in working order. Maybe to you $199 is nothing to worry about, but a lot of folks will expect a working phone for that price regardless of the subsidized price which is easily recouped with a two year agreement with any of the carriers you choose.

I wonder if you may be posting in the wrong section.

This thread is regarding a screen flicker Or "static" involving a total area of approximately 5sq mm that seems to occur primarily under fairly specific circumstances.

Perhaps you should be "complaining" about your devices "non working order" in the appropriate section of the forum.

If I laid down 199.00 for a product that was in non working order. I would deal with it as such.

It has been my experience, that performance or cosmetic issues with a given product need to be brought to the manufacturers attention so that a solution can be made and implemented.

Complaining is just that. Complaining.

I didn't get a hard time having my phone replaced at an apple store. just set up an appointment online then when you come in just let them know whats wrong (videos and pictures would also help). i had mine replaced at the Apple store at Northridge, CA if anybody wants to know and have theirs replaced. the guy told me that although he has seen that problem on the web, I'm the first one to come in to have it checked and replaced.

Btw, mine also had that horizontal flickering line problem happen twice during password typing on the itunes account. I did my research and apparently a lot of us are experiencing that too. Also couldn't replicate the problem on demand. But when it then happen again on me on a different situation (horizontal flicker on/off lines) during just a simple opening of a folder to use the apps on the home page I then had to act and schedule an appointment.

P.S. When I came into the Apple store there was a big sign that says no more iPhone 5's on stock. But apparently they have stocks for replacements (just on a sealed white box). I figured it can't be refurbished but just on hand ready replacements since they couldn't have made any refurbished ones yet.

It's interesting you mentioned that as you were the first one to post your opinion. "I don't understand why people are so concerned about this, or hopeful that it is a software problem and not hardware."

I had posted my issue with the flickering screen in a previous message. I was merely inputting my two cents in regards to your comments that according to your response to me, belong in another section of the forums. It appears you don't follow your own thought process as you were clearly injecting your two cents with your opinion.

I have the same issue I used to be certified laptop technician issue seems to be with graphic chip or graphic memory by not the screen I assume they have this issue on whole series that is why they are not replying. Issue happens on transparent keyboard where graphic chip requires extra effort to render that particular area. If you try to screenshot during the issue you are not able to because screen redrawn. Anyway I assume they might recall for this.

Apple map was horrible on top of software issue now an hardware issue just great. I would expect apple to react and reply this thread officially. I hope they won't delete my comment.
