Sep 30, 2012 12:37 PM in response to samesenseby 1sttimeappleuser,Yeah I get the same flicker when entering password in the apps store but especially when I change from letter to number, but I pressed the 123 button a lot at the apps log in section until the flicker stopped and it hasn't happened since so definitely a driver issue. Try it, it might help you.

Sep 30, 2012 2:08 PM in response to samesenseby knipknup,I have seen this flicker as well when entering my password in app store but also when entering my passcode intermittantly.
Today, I decided to power cycle my phone and when it powered back up, the whole screen flickered between my background and teh apple restore screen - black screen with white apple and status bar underneath. The screen would flicker for a few seconds and then go to the black apple screen. The restore bar was not moving, so I don't think it was doing anything, just showing an incorrect picture. At each touch of the screen, it would flicker my actual home screen and would launch apps, etc based on where I touched. However, it was unuseable because the screen was still flickering a lot and defaulted back to the black restore screen after a few seconds.
I called vzw and we did a restore. So far, it is not flickering, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sep 30, 2012 4:26 PM in response to samesenseby hopitpoppet21,I'm having the same problem. I thought it was just me, until I decided to search online about it and watch a youtube video on it. The only time it really has happened to me is when typing my password in the app store. It usually appears across the number keys. I have found that if you switch between the letter and number keys quite quickly it does disappears. I also read online that by restoring the phone helps. I did this and it has reduced the number of times that the flickering lines appear. Hopefully it is just a software issuse that can be restored with an update.

Sep 30, 2012 4:49 PM in response to samesenseby keithfromtracy,Please post if you are experiencing this issue AND if you feel you can contribute to the resolution, i.e. call made to Apple.
Posting only to state this issue is happening on your device and you hope a fix will be issued does not in any way contribute to the resolution. Go the extra step and contact Apple and then post what the result of that call was.

Sep 30, 2012 6:21 PM in response to samesenseby Scuba_bunny,I went to chatswood (nsw - aust) apple store (I ordered my phone online) showed them the video, they change my phone immediately. No issue coz its been less than 2 weeks and the exchange policy is with 2 weeks they will have no issue to change it - that's what I was told. So those who got the phone on 21 sept, u have till Friday.
They didn't particularly said what's wrong with it. They did say they have been receiving such complaints.
I got my new phone, so far so good!

Sep 30, 2012 7:37 PM in response to samesenseby bomani1,This sounds crazy, but I did a systems restore, and wipped the I5 clean. Then put everything back on the ios 6, lol it seemed to have stoppped. I went to the apple store today, and they said try that. MY wife put the ios 6 on her 3gs, and the flickering started, its seems like a software issue I think.

Oct 1, 2012 2:34 AM in response to samesenseby 1sttimeappleuser,just been to an apple store and they said it is NOT a known issue. They suggest 2 things, restore it to factory settings, if that fails swap it out, as Iphone has a years warrenty. So if you have this issue, get it swapped out, I am.

Oct 1, 2012 4:22 AM in response to 1sttimeappleuserby moomarine,I wouldn't bother swapping it because I did the same and the new replacement does exactly the same!
