Q: Anyone else have flickering/ghosting keyboard on iphone 5?

Well if your in the UK like me, I can't go get a replacement as they are all sold out. I think it would be incredibly unlucky for there to be a dodgy batch of iPhones.

Surely everyone must be having this problem, maybe they just aren't reporting it on here.

Still no word from Apple on this though, I reported it yesterday so it might take a little while.

I also have this issue - UK 16GB iPhone 5. Only appears when keyboard used to enter password in App Store (so far).

UK iPhone 5 32Gb, delivered from Apple (therefore unlocked), exactly the same symptoms. When typing in password in the App store, corruption across the keyboard. It's happened twice, the second time I videoed it from my iPad!

this actually just happened to me today!  and yes it was at the password entry screen while downloading a new app to the phone.

at first i thought - uh oh -  i have a bad hardware connection with the display - but it's somewhat comforting that other people have had this happen while doing the same exact thing - which points to an easily fixable software solution.....?

Got the same problem on my iPhone 5 black 16gb. Only happens when putting in apple Id password in App Store.

Do people think a software update will come out to fix it soon

I experienced the same issue. However, it happens mostly when i type the apple ID password for a purchase! I think it's a software issue as you never experience it while using Applications or reading with your iPhone. So if we are patient enough, we might get an update which will handle the problem!

There's now way too many people reporting the same issue on exactly the same screen, it's reassuring and worrying at the same time.

Is it possible there's a fault with the screen? Highly unlikely as its not iOS wide, it's confined to entering your password into the App Store when prompted. This should therefore be easy to reproduce by the engineering team at Apple.

If they haven't noticed it already, either way Apple give such great customer service that were in good hands folks Don't worry.

I am having the exact same problem with the flickering (US, nyc). In my case, the lower right corner of the phone the glass was loose (if you mildly presssed down you could feel/hear the glass move). I switched out the phone at an apple store, and the replacement phone doesn't work consistently on LTE....sigh.

Me too - flicking on keyboard when inputting password in App Store on UK iphone 5 32gb white. Doesn't happen all the time - just twice so far... (fingers crossed!)

Just happened to me!!! My wife was telling me about this yesterday, when downloading an app from the Apple Store, she saw lines on her screen while I was trying to contact her using FaceTime.

Me: 64GB Black Verizon

Her: 64GB White Verizon

I too have witnessed this issue in the App Store when entering my password.  I have also witnessed another issue when sending a text message.  When typing the message the K-key pulsed like it was being pressed multiple times but no additional K's appeared in the message field. It was very weird.

It happens to my new 32Gb black AT&T iPhone 5 as well, also on the password screen when I install an app. It does not happen everytime, but I've seen it 4 times now.

This is happening to me as well.  Though it only seems to be occurring when the keyboard is black, not on the normal grey keyboard or any other screens.

Same issue here during app store passwork entry page. It did trouble me much today and I was even thinking about returning it to apple store for a replacement with 2 weeks. Hope it is only a iOS 6 issue, not on hardware.
