iOS 6 Problem with Projector & Bluetooth Speakers

Up until I upgraded to iOS 6 today, I used the Brookstone Pocket Projector and a pair of DBEST London Bluetooth speakers to project movies in my bedroom with better sound quality than the speakers on the projector. It's always worked perfectly. I upgraded my iPhone 4S and now it can either find the speakers or be connected to the projector, but not both. I can listen to music and the speakers play it just fine, but once I plug it into the projector, the sound drops out of the speakers and only plays through the projector. I tried re-establishing the connection with the speakers, but while it looks like it's hitting the speakers, it won't send the audio. Really wishing I hadn't upgraded if that means that my $300 investment in auxiliary technology is now not going to work. Please help!

Envecreative, Sorry you are having trouble getting everything working. We connected our projector and we were able to get both the projector and our bluetooth speakers to work at the same time. When a Bluetooth Speaker or new audio device is connected to an IPhone or IPad, the Apple device will default to playing audio to that device. When the projector was plugged in (via the 30 pin to HDMI Apple accessory) the device started playing audio through the HDMI Pocket Projector's internal speakers. To switch back to the Bluetooth Speakers, try switching the Audio device in the Airplay menu which is now located at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a box with an triangle in it). You can then select your speakers to play your movie's audio. I hope this works for you. If you need anything else please contact our Customer Care Center at 800-846-3000.

I have the same issue with the my Brookstone DLP Pocket Projector. Worked great last week, I took it out on Saturday after upgrading to new OS6 to project some fo the games and it is now saying "This accessory is not supported" Did this upgrade cost me my favorite accessory?

Model - Iphone 4

System - OS6 (Unfortunately)

Accessory - Brookstone DLP Pocket Projector http://http://www.brookstone.com/pocket-projector-for-iphone-4?bkeid=compare%7cm ercent%7cgooglebaseads%7csearch&mr:trackingCode=2171D839-4BFE-E011-B18D-001B21A6 9EB0&mr:referralID=NA&mr:adType=pla&mr:ad=14966744244&mr:keyword={keyword}&mr:ma tch={matchtype}&mr:filter=41720270364&gclid=CMOo_O3y3bICFQsFnQodMH8AtA

It's apparently a problem that Brookstone either knows about or is willing to help deal with, thankfully, since Apple hasn't said anything about this issue. I called Brookstone customer service and they let me return the projector. I'm exchanging it for a Pico Projector that supports all kinds of hookups (not just iPhone), hoping this will keep this kind of thing from happening in the future. It cost me the difference - $56 - plus the time. I'm choosing to look at this like a blessing since the Brookstone Pocket Projector didn't let me project my presentations and things for my work. You might want to check out an alternative. This is the one I'm getting:

So we all have the same problem with the Brookstone DLP Pocket Projector since we upgraded to OS6. I also noticed that volume controls on videos disappear when the 30 pin connector is being used to charge. Can't charge and watch a movie at the same time. Did this upgrade cost me my projector? So the question is who is going to fix the software problem? Apple or Brookstone?

I'm going the a Brookstone store in the morning and see what they have to say. If they have a solution I'll get back to you guys.

Sorry But connecting my Iphone to the pocket projector doesn't seem to work. I get the Brookstone logo then a blue screen and no sound. The connection is good. I can charge my Iphone thru the pocket projector. Before I plug it in I have control over the sound and can see the volume control under the videos controls, when connected the volume controls disappear. I have turned bluetooth off. I have powerdown and up with no success. I have contacted Customer Care and they are suppose to get back to me in a day or two.

In my car, I plug the sound cable into a mini jack in my car and play music. If I try and charge my phone thru the USB cable to a lighter outlet sound dies. Two weeks ago that wasn't the case.

I went to Brookstone and the employee there had no idea this the device failed to work with the new IOS 6. It's a Brookstone product and I believe they should update the firmware to be compatible with the IOS 6. Now, what you're doing is selling a false product to thousands of customers. When all it does is play movies and slideshows your pictures. From what I've read, Brookstone describes this device as being able to "Mirror" any Iphone 4S. Spending $150-$220 is just plain out robbing people. 😠 Please come up with a resolution to this.
