Well,
Just to educate you, also. Crucial Memory and OWC are just Mac RAM suppliers.
They are not the manufacturer of the RAM
You don't have to duplicate the manufaturerer of RAM that Apple uses.
As long as the RAM is to Apple's proper specs, is 100% Mac compatible and is advertised as quality RAM, any supplier/ manufacturer of RAM will work in a Mac.
Apple uses different sources for RAM all of the time.
Elpida is just one source that Apple uses for RAM memory in their computer products.
One of Apple's sources for RAM, at one time, was Samsung.
They may still use Samsung as a source for RAM. I don't know for sure about this.
They use whatever manufacturer they find the cheapest and can produce the quantities of RAM needed to meet Apple's production spec, quality and production run quantities.
I consistently use OWC for memory upgrades in my Macs.
Been using them for this and other purchases and products for over 20 years.
I am not sure who their supplier/manufacturer is , but their memory exceeds Apple's and Intel's own specs. and standards and carries a lifetime warranty.
Meaning if a stick of their RAM goes bad, as long as I return the bad or defective RAM stick to OWC, I will receive a new replacement free of charge.
They post all relevant info about their RAM right in the RAM memory section of their website.
I have been using OWC RAM in every Mac I have owned or serviced.
Both Crucial and OWC sell quality and more important, Mac compatible RAM at very cheap or really reasonable prices.
You are just fooling yourself to believe you need THE identical RAM supplier in your Mac.
It doesn't matter. Quality, the number of chips on the RAM type, and the specs of the RAM are all that matters for the RAM to work properly in a Mac.
Your argument is fallacy.
You did get a good price
