Sep 21, 2012 10:41 PM in response to mhabashyby Twistiebrinkley,Yes, mhabashy, I am seeing my battery drain very fast throughout the day. I drained it yesterday and fully charged it overnight and it's now below 21% 8 hours later and I've hardly used it. I make sure to closes the apps when I've finished and with similar use on my iPhone 4, I never encountered such a quick drain. Looking forward to hearing from others.
iPhone 5, iOS 6

Sep 22, 2012 12:50 AM in response to mhabashyby ItsPerryXD,I previously had this problem.
I fixed this by removing everything from notifications but my messages and phone.
Then change your mail to manual when you go into the app instead of constantly pulling.
Turn off things such as icloud which backs up your data and remove apps that use your internet connection.
Turn off the gps on the phone so it isnt tracking you.
Have to remember that its using software that has yet to be perfected and hardware that is new to the community. Consider yourself beta testing until its perfect.

Sep 22, 2012 4:04 AM in response to mhabashyby Mike9586,I'm having similar issues. My iPhone 5 32GB is at 82% battery now and according to the usage data has only been used for 57 mins and in standby for 1 hour 37 mins.
I've had a look on Google and it appears there may be another battery issue with iOS 6 with iPhone 4S users complaining.

Sep 22, 2012 10:22 AM in response to mhabashyby Mike9586,I think it must be a software bug. My iPhone after 45 mins use (and 3 hour standby) since last charge was at 89%. Did a full reboot and it suddenly jumped to 93%!!
Hope Apple fix it soon.

Sep 22, 2012 1:01 PM in response to mhabashyby Smvk,Yes.the battery life Isvterrible. A real let down. Yet some of these iPhones do seem to work .... However if this is the iPhone 5 at its best then I am sorry apple will lose a customer. It should last 12 hours!

Sep 22, 2012 1:05 PM in response to ItsPerryXDby Smvk,Yes but we can't turn everything off or there is point in having this amazing piece of equipment. Apple must sort this ASAP ..........

Sep 22, 2012 1:09 PM in response to Smvkby Joe5150,I've seen this issue before on previous iphones, several complete drains of the battery(till it shuts off) let it sit for an hour after its discharged and then a full recharge usually will calibrate the battery.

Sep 22, 2012 3:42 PM in response to mhabashyby SimonMooseman,I've noticed something when the iPhone 5 is connected via wi-fi. The LAN light on my router never stops blinking rapidly when the 5 is connected to wi-fi even though I'm not running any apps. Something in the background is running through the router constantly even when idle, and I am also getting serious battery drain. I've turned off location services, reset the phone, minimized what's open etc etc....wonder if this is someone to do with Siri? As soon as I turn off wi fi, the router calms down and battery drain returns to normal...ps, it's any device I have upgraded to iOS 6 that is sowing this, not just the 5

Sep 23, 2012 8:20 PM in response to SimonMoosemanby deanhuff,I agree with Simon with respect to iphone5 on wifi. My battery drain away from home (wifi) is way less than when I am home.

Sep 23, 2012 11:20 PM in response to SimonMoosemanby Smvk,Well turning off Siri has certainly helped battery life.but Sunday is a lighter use day...thanks Simon!
But the fundamental problem remains... Apple have not sorted the battery problem and we have paid good money for a machine ( however wonderful) which we have to turn features off within, in order to keep it going !!!

Sep 24, 2012 12:22 AM in response to mhabashyby yul000,I have minimised all my notification to only sms, whatsapp, email and call. I switch off all the other items like wifi, siri, icloud. Set my email notification to manually fetch instead of push.
With all the items switched off, the battery is draining at a rate of 5% every half hour. Apple please sort this out. Battery life cant even last 1 day of work. Such a disappointment.
