    Turn off the LTE and the battery will be fine, I talked to an Apple rep and they are aware of this huge issue and are working for a software fix. Also it is not only Iphones with this issue, I talked to a person with a Samsung and they have the same issue with battery drain.

    So turn off LTE and wait for a fix!

    LTE is off on my phone and it makes no difference. That is not a fix.

    There is an issue. I know this because I had a black 64gb I preoredered onlune, got it the day they released. I eneded up swapping it out at the store for a white one and the black one I ordered online worked awesome, just like my 4s did I was using prior. This white one I got at the store is horrible. I had to charge it two times to get through the day yesterday and thats just not acceptable. Thats having it on WiFi at work. LTE only back and forth to work. The one I had before had about 26% when it was time to go home and would have to charge it sometimes before I laid down to go to bed but for the most part would get me through the day. Im kicking myself now for swapping the phones. I could care less what color it is now, I just want it to work!!

    LTE off worked for me, first day LTE on battery lasted 4 hrs with minimal use, second day LTE off 12 hrs and still at 60%

    I did a test last night as I went to bed.  I have everything on except BT and Siri (as I don't use them).  With no apps running in the background I recorded my % and times right as I went to bed.  Only once did I wake to clicked the wake button to see the time and then click it again to turn off.


    After 5.5hrs of sleep my usage time went up by 15 minutes!  Without me doing a dang thing.  Also in that 5.5hrs my battery life went down by 5%.

    What notifications did you receive during that time?

    Do you have icloud sync on? it could been synching during that time period.

    I do not have iCloud account.  I did receive 2 emails, I suppose that was it.  I have fetch set to every 15mins, but also did on my iPhone 4 and it would only lose 1% after 8-10hrs of sleeping.


    I refuse to turn off features I use, that is unacceptable to me, Apple needs to address and fix this and NOW!  This is complete BS, isn't this grounds for a class action lawsuit?

    If you have fetch on every 15 min, then I cant see it draining that much during your sleep period.


    I understand your frustration and I believe that 6.1 will address some of these issues, but I dont know for sure. If you are truly unhappy where it is to the point of throwing the lawsuit words out there, I would return the phone for a refund, and attempt another brand product. There was a lot of issues when the 4S/iOS5 was released with battery problems, that were addressed with the 5.1/5.2 updates. I have no idea on time frame of future releases either.

    I turned off the LTE, previous to that I was at 50% battery use for a day with minimal usage. After turning off LTE I'm using 10 to 20%  per day, quite a difference. Apparently If LTE service not available it is always searching for it ?. I live in an area not totally covered by LTE, 3G plenty quick enough for me.  Reset my network settings, turned off LTE, rebooted phone. All Good now !   Try it..... can't hurt to give a shot, worked for me.

    I had a similar issue till I realized the Bluetooth was on. It's a default setting. I don't use this and when it's not connected to a ear piece it's searching for a match draining your battery. Since I turned it off I find the battery life is better than my old 4so

    Here My experience:


    the two pictures have been taken before I went to bed last night and this morning:

    As you can see (I bet you all can understand even if it is in italian :-p) even if nobody has touched the phone during the night it sais that the usage has been incremented by 30 minutes.


    Here is my theory: I have the mail which fetch every 15 minutes; 8 hours divided by 15 minutes is equal to 32. The iPhone, by default settings, get bloked (therefore it goes in standby) after one minute that it is not used.


    Therefore there is a chance that when it fetchs the email, it get waked up for one minute and this is happened about 30 times during the nigth -> 30 minutes added to the usage counter.


    Tomorrow I will try to change the email fetch from 15 to 30 and, if the counter will show an increment of 15 minutes, I will prove that the phone get waked up by the email fetching activity.


    I don't know if also on the iphone 4 or 4S the usage get incremented during the night, I would apprecciate if somebody could try this.

    Thanks for the update and usage data. Apple called me tonight from my postings here. I have turned everything back ON, on my phone after charging to 100 percent tonight. I used Siri twice, used Safari three times. Updated six apps as indicated, then surfed the app store for three minutes. My battery dropped in 57 minutes from 100 percent to 85 percent. I was not using the phone that entire time of even close to it. I used it about ten minutes total in that time. The rest of the time it was on standby.


    I didn't have time tonight to do the questionaire but, will do it tomorrow. Then Apple is going to send a tracking of usage to my phone. I am going to go ahead and do this and let them work out what is going on with our phones this way.  I'm glad they know about and are acting on these issues and am satisfied a solution will be found.


    The news from Foxconn *unofficial of course!* is that there were some issues with the iphone 5 according to both the news networks and some workers there. However, I know a little about how trustworthy news is out of there both in Shenzen and the other plant. It just so happens my family has very close ties to China and we try to keep up not only with the tech news there but, with many other issues as well. Some of this can be the IOS but, it may be related on some phones with the hardware if the reports are accurate and I'm not saying they are. One worker stated on a report that about ten out of one hundred phones had no issues and the rest did. I found that comment rather interesting given the reports here but, again that could be totally inaccurate. I'm only relaying that to you as a way for you to consider doing a little more digging for info on this release yourself.


    I'll let Apple try to resolve this for me and if it cannot be I'll try another phone. It could be that this first batch of phones had some bad "Apples" hahaha. ug! My suggestion at this point is if you are having issues to contact them if they have not already contacted you and let them track your usage and battery issues. At least I know they are working on these problems. That helps me a lot.


    I do volunteer work in some pretty unstable places at times and my phone is my life line to get out of stickey situations if I need to. I carry insurance that will lift me out of there and have the number plugged into my phone asap when I go. That way if I need urgent care I'm able to get out immediately. This is VERY important to me as the area I go to has a huge crime rate as well as ridiculously bad medical services. As in NO medical services or the type that could only be described as "traumatising"  If my phone dies this quickly then I won't be able to rely on this phone the way I could my other iphones in these situations. There is no way at this time that I would put myself in those situations with the iphone 5.


    However, Apple IS working on this and as of tonight I know for sure they are so I'll hold on and let them sort it out as soon as possible. Hopefully they can get everyone up to acceptable stats on the battery life and operating functions. At least we know they ARE on this issue.

    That's great to hear that Apple are getting in contact with people... Would love to have them follow up with me o track usage, etc...(have already been to Apple Store).


    I guess people's frustration is not knowing if this is a problem that is down to a problem that can be fixed or a hardware defect that means you need a replacement!


    Interestingly enough my battery has been better these past 2 days. Made it from 6am to 10pm with 12% left last night and on 33% after 6pm (so 12 hours since charging). LTE is on but Siri and Bluetooth off. Rest is on.

    Hey,  i have the same problem  Have 64gb model and battery drains very quickly.  I also get fuzzy lines when purchasing apps.  Lines appear when i am asked to input my password.
