LiveType keeps crashing, but only when I place background. Why?

It's never done this before and I haven't had any big updates recently that I can think of. I tried trashing my preferences and restarting, but that didn't work. LiveType is working fine in every area except when I try to place a background file and then it crashes. Any suggestions are appreciated!
