Multi-touch gestures on iPad not working with iOS 6

I have the new iPad and have used multitouch gestures for everything. After downloading iOS 6, the multitouch gestures hardly work at all. Before, I could activate the gestures with a simple flick of the wrist, but now it takes several attempts to get the same results. Is anyone else having these problems, and does anyone know if Apple is aware of this situation? Hopefully this is something gets fixed soon, because it has made browsing and app-switching very cumbersome and tedious.

Of course. The gestures eventually work, it just takes much, much more attempts before the gesture is recognized and actually executes the command.

I'm seeing the same thing. I never ran into this on iOS 5 so they obviously changed something that affects how easily the multi touch gestures can be accessed.

Me too. The multitouch gestures dont work fine on New Ipad and iOS 6. The gestures works but sometimes fails

I see the same issue. This is very annoying and I hope that it will be fixed in next release. If I wanted to have the device working like this I'd buy some Samsung tablet 🙂

I think that I've found a solution (or the bug)

This bug occurs when the three-fingers zoom action is active and then you try to make some four-fingers gestures

When disable the zoom action from settings, the four-fingers gestures works fine.

In all cases, the five-fingers gestures works fine

I had 3 fingers zoom active indeed. I agree that after disabling 3 thingrs zoom feature, the multi finger actions works better. Anyway, it's rather workaround than a solution. What's more, in my case 5 finger action was also affected.

And of course I'd like to have my 3 fingers zoom back enabled not disturbing any other multifinger actions.

You are absolutely right. For some reason iOS 6 screwed with the three-finger zoom feature and it started interfering with the multi-touch gestures. Thanks so much for the tip!

This is not fixed YET.

Same problem in ios version 6.1.3 (on ipad4).

The reason I choose ipad was the 3-finger-zoom.

Now the ipad is just an annoying piece of sh*t when 3-finger-zoom is enabled.

Didn't even know about these gestures. Very cool. Too bad they don't enable them on the iPhone - would save the Home button from a lot of use!

The 'pinch to home screen' feature works reliably when you have your thumb and pinkie on the screen at the same height from the bottom of the screen and then do the pinch motion -- like this:

I can't get it work with 4 fingers, but with all 5 works almost all the time.
