Oct 9, 2012 2:15 PM in response to Handsfullby nnarum,Mine is almost on par with their claims. I'm not trolling. I showed you my pic dude.
They say 8 hours of LTE/3G usage. I've been averaging at least 6 hours and 30 min depending on usage. I know I probably won't get the 8 full hours always, mainly due to signal amount and coverage.
I understand that your phone hasn't been up to par, but you don't have to say people aren't enjoying the phone.

Oct 9, 2012 2:25 PM in response to Handsfullby nnarum,I showed you my numbers. I'm in line with their estimates!
What was I wrong with when I said people get ones with scuffs and scratches or battery issues?
What am I missing? Tell me how I'm trolling. I would like to understand your logic.

Oct 9, 2012 2:29 PM in response to nnarumby vrs626,On my phone anything using cellular data kills the battery. I had the phone on standby overnight for about 7 hours and it was still at 100% in the morning. As soon as I started using twitter, iMessage, etc. it started burning battery at 2-3% per minute. And I have full signal LTE.

Oct 9, 2012 2:47 PM in response to vrs626by nnarum,You may have spotty LTE coverage in your area and the radio is trying to find a solid connection.
Also, have you tested it running LTE off? 3G is more stable than LTE. I know this is an inconvienence, but if LTE is draining it more than 3G, that's a coverage issue. Not the phone.

Oct 9, 2012 2:58 PM in response to holdregeby Shahd Elfatih,Here's the solution to all this thread and related ones.
Late Steve Jobs would've never allowed such an iOS to be released without testing and retesting and then ............... RE-RETESTING. Maps app is a KILLER. The black coating of the Aluminum frame of the iPhone 5 chips away EASILY. Jobs preferred the stainless steel frame of the 4 and 4s because, and I quote, " metal wears off beautifully ".
There are more than 150k following this thread. Other THOUSANDS following different threads about more or less THE SAME TOPIC here. Those people are NOT just following, THEY'RE LOOKING FOR HELP.
Steve Jobs ........ WE MISS YOUR WISDOM AND GUIDANCE. MAY GOD BE MERCIFUL UPON HIS SOUL.

Oct 9, 2012 5:21 PM in response to holdregeby AlwaysLookin4Answers,I honestly can not believe that I am posting again about this issue. I wanted to try one last thing (I have said that about 10 times) to see if there would be any changes. Well, I am at 98% battery with 28 mins usage/1 hour 10 mins standby on LTE. I don't think that is bad! I am only posting this for the desperate people who will do anything (just like I) - Obviously I haven't gotten very far in this test but let's see how it goes.

Soooo - I read originally there was a bug involving Safari / Icloud ... So I decided to do this (this will leave you without safari temporarily until this is fixed- you will have to download google chrome when this process is finished, if you want a browser)
*Delete ISPW file thats on your computer
*Sign out of itunes account
*Plug IPhone into computer
*Put Iphone in DFU mode
*Let the software download/install on your phone
*When it is all finished and the iphone pops back up on the left hand side of itunes - leave itunes alone for this next part but keep phone plugged into it.
*Start setting up your iphone as if it were brand new.
*Skip the icloud sign in, for now
*Okay now you are on the home screen ready to use your phone (do not open safari!!)
*Go to Settings/Safari/Turn off everything in that section (Fraud Warning OFF is most important)
*Go to Advanced WEBSITE DATA / And click "remove all website data"
*Go to Settings/General/Restrictions/Enable Restrictions/ and then disable Safari
*Close that out
*Go to ICLOUD and sign in. Turn off PASSBOOK and SAFARI. If it asks you to delete items click Delete.
***I also am not using facebook intergration anymore****
Now you can go back to itunes and it should be left on the screen where it says "Set up as new or restore from backup" - I pressed Set up as new. BEFORE all of this, when you hit that, it would sync and it would download "safari safe browsing data".. now it doesn't (Could that have been the battery eater?? we don't know... thats why anything is worth a shot)
If you have your apps in itunes, sync those onto the phone now and download chrome...its a great browser... put that in place of your safari for the time being...when youre all finished... give the phone a hard reset, some charge and see what happens!
this is just another "maybe it'll work thing" - if you're not into that....then don't do it... i'm just trying to help

Oct 9, 2012 5:46 PM in response to Handsfullby Andy Goundry,EVERYONE - I fixed my phone! I took it back and got a refund
Best of luck with your search for a workable product. I decided that my £700 was best spent elsewhere.
Ciao

Oct 9, 2012 5:53 PM in response to Andy Goundryby mrbr1ghtside,@Andy - I wish I could do that. **** contract. I'll probably sell it instead. Anyone want a brand new iphone 5?
@AlwaysLookin - I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm -i sincerely hope this works- but I would refrain from judging performance at 98%. The reason I say this is because the phone batt is not very well calibrated.
In my experience, it stays at 100% (and 1%) for far too long therefore misrepresenting the usage/drain ratio.
Best of luck though!
