Oct 11, 2012 7:40 AM in response to holdregeby iphone5rocks,I funny thing I am noticing is that my phone seems to be getting better at my home location. I have more LTE, instead of 3G. The phone seems to not be working as hard. I am on Verizon. I have no idea why things would improve a bit since I have had the phone.
Also if you read the stats from apple, they use the "up to " 8hrs on battery life, so no one should expect to meet or beet the stats all of the time. They also qualify their test results by saying that signal strength and other factors could effect the battery life.

Oct 11, 2012 7:39 AM in response to Handsfullby Jameson!,Nahhhhhhhhh..... Nobody should be in pain over 6+ hours of usage. At that point, it becomes nit-picking.

Oct 11, 2012 7:43 AM in response to iphone5rocksby Jameson!,If you go way back in this thread, this is exactly what I suggested several times. When you first set up, restore or reset the iPhone5, there seems to be a lot of background activity going on for as long as a couple of days.
My first two days with the phone resulted in terrible battery life. Then I just left it as is, used it normally and charged it as necessary, without tweaking, restoring, resetting at all. By day 3, it had settled down nicely and has begun performaing much better than my 4s ever did.
I'm convinced that when firts configured, the phone is doing a lot of work that we are unaware of..........

Oct 11, 2012 7:50 AM in response to Jameson!by iphone5rocks,jameson,
I don't think this is the case for me because I have a very simple setup. For example I run minimal icloud, and location services and don't push or fetch email. It almost seems as if the cell towers in my area have improved or my phone has improved. Do the carriers rebalance their systems? Is there some type of dynamic response that enables towers to better communicate with the customers? Could the effect you are talking about have to do with the interaction with the cell provider and not the phone itself?

Oct 11, 2012 7:50 AM in response to holdregeby AlwaysLookin4Answers,I got my new replacement phone...I can't speak on the battery yet.. I installed everything manually.. no backup whatsoever.. disabled safari in icloud etc etc etc... but OF COURSE my home button, power button, and camera are all loose.. the home button is most annoying.. its like wobbly... I really over it...There's no excuse for this. I am not looking for things to pick on... Things are being thrown in my face to pick on. What is wrong with you apple??

Installing anthing before testing could have been a mistake. Now if the phone doesn't perform you will not be sure it is software or hardware.

6 hours of use is no good. Period. I have 6 years of iPhone experience that tells me this.
How many days the OS runs has nothing to do with battery life. I'm on day 5.....and still have subpar performance...pleae explain.

Oct 11, 2012 7:55 AM in response to iphone5rocksby AlwaysLookin4Answers,I get that but I really don't have time for that. Battery dying at a crazy rate or not, I need to be able to use my phone and all of my stuff. So, I can't be the one to do that test.
