Ok, here are the results
iPhone 4 only has wifi and no cellular signal: 1704 ms
iPhone 4S on cellular: 5824 ms
2nd iPhone 5 on cell: 3721 ms
Of course I cannot test it on the faulty iPhone 5 since it's already in Apple's hands, but that 10 seconds you've shown is high, I suppose.

Oct 12, 2012 11:34 AM in response to Yuniverseby Yuniverse,Oh, also the netstat app didn't charge me multiple times for the in-app purchase. It let me upgrade for free on other iPhones once I had paid for it one one iPhone.

From Alex's post, I note his comments about iCloud push being the culprit, which makes sense, given Iphone 5 and iOS6 are designed to have iCloud syncing over cellular aswell as wifi, versus Iphone 4/4s syncing just over wifi. Im wondering if theres a bug in this protocol when both are available? Also, could there be settings to limit syncing pushs via Icloud updating attached devices via wifi and/or cellular? I've yet to get my Iphone 5, and am glad Im getting educated on the problems here...
For me, it seems to be all about power management on a battery that is effecitvely the same as the Iphone 4s but has greater demands by the enchanced functionality of the Iphone 5. The above being one of the enhancements intended to help, but if synching in a bugged fashion or just too often, it would say it would hit the battery hard..
As for push email syncing, calenders and contacts syncing, this is one of the features I love about the new Iphone 5 and iOS6, albeit a shakey start to this next generation model and software. I think you will find this "beta test" using crowdsource will fix Iphone 5 like Iphone 4 was fixed and I for one am looking forward to my new Iphone arriving to give me a reliable smart phone that does what it is supposed to. Its unlocked so all the better to not get strong armed into another contract by the carriers so I can shop around for a deal. A good investment all things being equal I think.. and I have confidence that Apple will come through.. The legacy of Steve Jobs cant possibly fade just over a year after his death.. he rebuilt Apple in the 90s after he came back the last time when the company was lead into near ruin my those less able then him... the structures he build is as much a part of his legacy as the innovative tech he envisioned for the company... Apple's future will be good once they dont let ego overcome good sense, and fix whats broken, and more importantly, dont fix whats not broken!..
Im a macbook user for years at home and was a blackberry fan due to its software reliability, security and amazing battery life. Now, after a real nightmare with the new blackberry, I am done with blackberry after many years of smart phone usage as the new Blackberry 9900 (worst buy ever) does nothing but auto restart on their OS7 software, freezes screen and crashes with the simplest of 3rd party apps like weather.. Like we have problems, blackberry's smart phone is really dumb in my view... and **** annoying to boot.. especially when calls crash due to dodgy software. I had to lock it into 3G mode just to stablize the phone (but the battery life was great..lol), and have zero apps on it cos of the constant crashing of the software. Its now 1 day after the new firmware update from blackberry, and having 2G/3G mode on, I had to do a "battery pull" (blackberry version of hard restart) restart the handset due to the screen freezing (touchscreen) and no manual or touch controls working... Iphone despite its problems has nothing near that level of crap and when its powered, it makes calls/receives them and works like it is supposed to.. thats on first iOS6 release. Blackberry is still having freezing screens in my experience and its on its 3rd release..
Sorry to go on, but I believe the Apple we all know and love is still there and this let down on Iphone will be fixed. On a positive note, if my new Iphone is not perfect, I am now informed enough to trouble shoot and will be on Apples tail until I have an Iphone I can fall in love with, just like its supposed to be.. lol..

Oct 12, 2012 11:38 AM in response to Yuniverseby KentuckyBoys5412,Hello Everybody. Is this usage acceptable for a brand new iphone 5? I use it with all the features. Some phone calls, alot of web browsing, twitter, facebook, lte, wifi, 4g, siri, etc.. In other words I did not go out of my way to turn off anything.
I just wanted to know if this was any good? Thank you!
At the time that I took this screen cap I had just clicked cellular data off because I wanted it to die a little slower since I was on the go.

Oct 12, 2012 11:43 AM in response to Yuniverseby spyd4r,well, with the iPhone 4S being just as bad as the iPhone 5 on cellular.. it guess it's not the culprit.. it's just a slow connection in general. guess i am used to dealing with networking on wired connections, not cellular.

Oct 12, 2012 11:44 AM in response to KentuckyBoys5412by spyd4r,add atleast another hour onto that for it to be considered "good", but not great.

Oct 12, 2012 11:45 AM in response to KentuckyBoys5412by Yuniverse,I don't know, it might be decent depending on how you've used it. One way to know for sure if your iPhone has severe battery problem is to charge it to 100% until you see a little plug in the battery instead of a thunder and then unplug it overnight when you're not using it. If you wake up to ~60% (or any less than 90%, I'd say), then you have a problem.

Oct 12, 2012 11:55 AM in response to Yuniverseby Handsfull,I wake up with 92% battery with it Being off the charger at 100% around midnight.
I won't accept anything less than what my iPhone 4S was putting out for numbers.... And that is an average of two days of use/standby from 100% battery to 0% battery.
The absolute bare minimum hours of usage should be eight hours, Maps if you're watching a movie while using GPS, And occasionally using the phone at the same time - LOL - I'm joking, but I'm not joking

Oct 12, 2012 12:03 PM in response to Handsfullby Jameson!,Oh jeez! I thought I had, just before I left. It had only been about 1:15 with wifi off, but the drop was only 3% --- to 84%, IIRC. It really didn't make a difference to me.
sorry. I thought it went through..........
