Oct 13, 2012 9:33 AM in response to apps2012by AlwaysLookin4Answers,New all time low :
46%
Usage: 3 Hours / 41 Minutes
Standby: 11 Hours/ 20 Minutes
LTE isn't realistic on this phone. It drains the fastest while it's on.
Not new information - just saying it.

Oct 13, 2012 9:38 AM in response to apps2012by iphone5rocks,I just noticed that I have a could have a bug in the software on my iphone. I wonder if this could effect battery life. Have any of you noticed that you are using tether data when you are not.By the way my problem comes and goes for no reason. Sometimes it shows in the data usage then it disappears.

Oct 13, 2012 9:46 AM in response to Handsfullby Aviramyosef,i think that this is the iOS 6 that makes so many problems. Also users with 4 and 4s complains about the battery issue. I hope that Apple fix this issue ASAP

Oct 13, 2012 12:16 PM in response to holdregeby Yuniverse,Another update on my "fixed" replacement iPhone 5:
It was running really well...until I turned on the bluetooth. Then it tanks. Yesterday, with the BT off, it went around 10 hours of standby on 100%. But today, with BT on, it didn't last an hour until it dropped to 99%. I did install bunch of apps directly on iPhone, so that could also be a factor, but I noticed as soon as I turned on BT that the battery started discharging rapidly. After 2 hours, it's already down to 94%, and I didn't do anything except to check on the usage.
Time to switch, anyone?
BTW, I ordered mine on the 14th of last month which arrived on 21st like most of you. The question is, when is the last day to return this for a refund? 14th or 21st?

Oct 13, 2012 12:40 PM in response to holdregeby Guhy10,I'm having the same problems. So after a week I decided to phone apple. I spoke to someone and explained my circumstances. He asked me a series or questions how long is my batt life and how is it whilst its charging etc.... In conclusion he asked me to try a reset and set up as new and if that fails he told me to phone back up and assured me "we'll both get down to what's causing the fault" Then he corrected himself saying "I mean issue"... But again assured me that the usage I'm getting doesn't sound right and told me not to worry..
My brother also phoned up about his 4s having the same problems and was told basically the same and if he has no luck with reset he will get a replacement..
I'll see what happens with that...
One thing that has me thinking in relation to jamiesons posts is about how ios6 could be configuring in the background is that my network Vodafone has been for the last month giving unlimited data for the next 3 months. Then I'll go back to my 2 gb data plan... They say its to calculate your average use of data..
Could this possibly be to help background configuration of ios6.. And might also explain why I'm using more data than I'm used to
Used 8% batt typing this

Yep. That's bad. Yet another example that is right in the ballpark with what most are seeing....thanks for posting.
Everyone....post your numbers here so there's hard proof of what's going on....or you can remain silent/disgruntled.
Everyone....bookmark this thread too.....these two are directly related IMO:

Oct 13, 2012 2:24 PM in response to Jameson!by tonymarcus,I think your right, my phone would charge really quick and the phone would stay at 100% for about 40 minutes constant use then while not being used it would jump down to 82% in my pocket!!

Oct 13, 2012 2:37 PM in response to holdregeby todd1010,I stopped by a ATT and they replaced my sim card. I haven't noticed any change in better battery performance since it was just yesterday.
However before I decided to stop in the ATT store, I unplugged my phone at 10 am and by 3:30 pm it was a 37% and this was a day that I did not hardly use my phone at all as I was very busy.
As I was in the ATT store, it literally dropped from 37% to 34% while he swapped out the sim card. Walked to the car right outside the store and it hit 33%. This was on a set up as new DFU restore with absoluty NO APPS at all installed outside of the way it comes from Apple once you set up the phone to activate it.

Oct 13, 2012 3:39 PM in response to todd1010by Blakeanator,I checked my usage before I set down my phone (it was at 8 min). 30 minutes later I check my phone and the usage says its been used for 26 minutes. Something has to be running in the background that is just killing our battery life.

Oct 13, 2012 3:42 PM in response to Handsfullby Shahd Elfatih,Hey Handsfull,
I've been following these 2 threads myself since they both started. I'm still on my ,unfortunately, upgraded 4s. I was to get my iPhone 5 on the 30th September, unlocked, but I delayed buying it pending these 2 threads. I'm really considering further delay until Apple " comes out ". I'll continue my close follow-up and c how it turns.
Steve Jobs ........... We miss your guidance and wisdom.
