trust me, it's a negative value. the closer to 0 the stronger the signal. lower is better

Nov 15, 2012 4:59 PM in response to holdregeby demure84,Finally an Apple store genius admitted there's a problem with the iPhone 5 battery!!! Instead of usual we've never heard of this same issue before! He looked up my iPhone to see if mine belonged to the early batch that had an even worse battery life turns out I didn't, I still think we all belong to that batch looking at the 165 page topic
Just got back from the store inquiring about the iPhone 5 poor battery life looking for possible solutions for the first time I refused a brand spanking new replacement, I just wanted any possible answers on how to make the phone run longer, the employee was unable to help but he put down in his notes suggesting to come back after 6.1 update if the problem persists and then look for any other possible solutions? In other words that's saying something that Apple may be cooking up a battery fix within the next upcoming update! That could only be a speculation but an employee might be shedding some light here...?? I dunno?

i would say within a few DBm's yeah.. not a wild amount though. but there are a lot of factors which can make it fluctuate..
anything below 85-90 is easily very usable though. -50 is like being sat down at the base of the tower.

Nov 15, 2012 6:40 PM in response to holdregeby Echo Station,Everyone here should read this article. It's a bit technical, but it really explains cellular signals in depth.

I can't stress this enough, the only real solution is for Apple to make changes with the phones power management. Only Apple's engineers know of this can be done without too much impact on performance.
