Q: iPhone 5 battery life is way worse than iPhone 4

Nail on the head spyd4r.    LiON batteries have no memory and it's more harmful to deep cycle them than it is to keep them charged up all the time.

At this point.. I have to really assume that everyone has this horrible battery life. On twitter if you search IPhone Battery.. Every second somebody else is saying "what the ****???" Insane

The battery drainage is pretty mucgh the ssame for all iphone 5's.  The only ones with an actual issues are the ones drainning a crazy amount on standby, but for those who have ok standby battery drainnage, but those who experience a massive depletion during use, its pretty much normal for the iphone 5.  I have done 2 exchanges and have read many people who have done multiple exchanges as well.  Its totally a software/hardware issue of all the iphone 5's out there.  So those who are a bit OCD, like i was,  and think their own phone is defective, relax its not. 

For those who are showing 11-12 hours usage.  That is defintely with mp3 playback .  Mostly everyone i know who have an iphone 5 get the same usage depending on use.  If its heavy usage, constant calling, texting, browsing, its 4-6 hours give or take LTE or wifi.,  On light to moderate use, its like 8-9 hours give or take, whatever settings.  I have easliy done 2 1/2 days stanby and about10 hours usage on pretty light to moderate use but also got only like 5 hours of use with constantly messing with the phone.

So there is no point to keep exchanging your phone looking for one that has a perfect battery   hopefully this is something that apple can and will address, but it doesnt seem likely as of now.  I think for those of us who decide to continue on with this iphone will just have to deal wth the medocre battery.  I know most smart phones on this level all consume battery at a high rate, but shame on APPLE for advertising those specs knowing the majority of us will never come close to reaching those hours.   I know many of you demand more from your phone according to your lifestyle, business etc... but as long as the phone gets me through the day meaning like 12-14 hours stanby/usage combined i am ok.... Defintely would be nice to go 3 days without a charge, but realistically thats not gonna happen, atleaste with IP5.

Will this make me never buy future iphones?? probably not.  But this is a definite stepdown for APPLE in the smart phone sector.  They will very likely lose many loyal iphone users.  From my experience, alot of my friends who use android, s3 in particular, love it.  As they will admit that style wise, iphone does look alot better, but performance wise, s3 is as good or if not a bit better, i guess that depends on persoanl preference.  I prefer iphone, but I am not super tech savvy, i guess i am just accustomed to how the iphone runs and do like the look of the phone. 

oh, and for those who may not know... but i am sure mot of you who post here know more than i do.  Your phone still charges after it appears charged on the screen.  I guess using any of the battery apps will let you know.  There is another good hour of so of charging even when the battery percentages shows 100%.  I consistently make sure i charge it to the full. 

For instance, I just charged it fully.  I got 2 1/2 hours standby and 1hr 30 min usage.... of actual usage, i have been on facebook, texting, constantly for that hour and 30 min on WIFI and battery reads 95% when i do comapre it to my previosu 4s, it does seem alittle bettter.  Ok, just my experience. As for settings, I have location on for a few apps, notification on for weather only, screen at around 50%, no bluetooth and all email is manualy fetch, I have 6 email accounts though. 

Hi everybody i am on my third replacement last time it was hard to swap it i have to call manager to do this and spent about 3 hours at apple store. And i realise that every phone when you go to General/Usage/Cellular usage below Tether data counter always show my phone is tethering date some where. Numbers are counted in terrabytes, and i am nos subscribed for tethering when i am calling Sprint they answer me they dont see any tethering on my device and thats not possible because i am not subscribed for this, when i am calling apple they cant find unswer too. Is any body has the same problem?
