iPhone 5 / iOS 6: Can't sync music via iTunes anymore (Screenshot attached)

Hello everyone,

yesterday I got my iPhone 5 with iOS 6, everything is working fine except of the music app. When I sync music from my iTunes library to my iPhone everything seems to work properly, no errror messages etc. The music also shows up in my music app but every song is greyed out, the cover is missing and I can't play any song. I tried syncing manually, I deleted my whole library and started over, I synced automatically, nothing works.

Anyone can help?

Here is what I did, I don't know if every step is necessary though:

- I unplugged my iPhone from my PC and deleted / cleared my iTunes Music Library

- Then I added the albums I wanted to have on my iPhone back to the library

- Then I connected the iPhone with the PC again and checked "Sync only selected Songs and Videos" (don't know the exact words, because I use german iTunes ("Nur markierte Titel und Videos synchronisieren)

- I checked "Manage music and videos manually" as well

- Then I selected all the songs I wanted to copy to my iPhone and moved them over the iPhone

- Syncing started and it worked 🙂

Hi guys, I'm having trouble her too!

New Iphone 5 wont sync to Itunes on my Mac. Got the message the latest Itunes version needed downloading and did that, but still nothing. I've also downloaded Apps for free and all is okay with these.

I can see Iphone capacity when in Itunes and when I try and alter the playlists I want it shows in the capacity window. Then when I push Sync, I get nothing.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong and would be happy with any pointers.

I'm having same problems as you Eugene with my Windows...capacity bar shows 12.9gb of audio but nothing transfers to my iphone 5 even though it goes through the whole syncing process without showing any problems.
Only other problem I see is that on my itunes account i notice that in 'manage devices' the iphone 5 is not listed which i guess means its not being recognised even though, like you, i have downloaded the latest itunes version in order to cope with the ios6 server the new iphone 5 has. That said, i dont know how to get the itunes store to recognise my iphone 5 in order for it to appear in my itunes account.

Please pass on any info you find out that may solve this problem.

Thanks !

I have an iPhone 5. My Windows iTunes used to synch to my iPhone 4s with the most updated iTunes 10. I could never get my music on my iPhone 5 to synch (all burned from my CD's). I tried all the suggestions - manual, reinstalled, etc. on the string above. iTunes would indicate through a blue bar that music was to be synched but then go through the synch process and no music would be synched.

I then did this on my Mac using iTunes 10. Worked the first time.

So, I have to think that Windows iTunes is not working to synch music. Mac iTunes works fine.
