See here: iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

However, if the older PC is unable to boot up, you'll need to pull the HD out, place it in a USB external enclosure, and connect it to the new PC.

If all the music/content is still on your Nano, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Hey! This is what I did because I lost everything on one of y old computers.

I downloaded a feature on the new computer called 'sharepod' if you have most of your music on your apple device this will work for more than one purpose.

When you connect your apple device and you have sharepod open it will automatically connect to the device.

All you have to do is highlight the music you want off of it and then up the top of the bar on the application on the computer it will say 'transfer to computer' once you click on that all your music will be on your computer under your music file.

Easy peasy :))))

Hope this helps you. Also, you can take your old laptop to a computer tech and they can take your hard drive out and get everything off of it. :D
