Contacts erased when upgrading. How do I get them back?
Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer and/or there are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts over the air on an iOS device such as an Apple iCloud account, Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
You don't depend on a cell phone alone for such important data?
Why can't this Apple "Support" stop being condescending and just the answer the question at hand? Yes, not ALL of us are computer/technology wizards so YES, a lot of depend on our cell phone alone for this important data such as our contacts!
It was answered, and you should not depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for such important data which can be lost or stolen, damaged beyond repair, or have a hardware failure. Keep doing so and it is just a matter of time before your contacts will be lost.
