Last fall I obtained a MacBook Pro for the purpose of importing movies from my Panasonic model PV-GS300 digital video camcorder. It appears that my camcorder is not supported. Would somebody with experience confirm this or offer help? Thanks, Stuck.

This camera is supported. (All DV cameras are).

You will need a Firewire Cable that is 9 pin to 4 pin, like these.

The camera ust be plugged into power (not batteries only).

Thanks for the feedback. I still haven't been able to confirm the camcorder is supported, but now that you are confirming it is supported, I will try more things to transfer my mini DV cassette tapes to the MacBook. I had already purchased and connected the Firewire Cable and had the camcorder plugged into power - so I already took those steps. The iMovies software is not recognizing the connection: when I go to import from camera, it opens the Face Time camera on the laptop - but there must be some other thing I haven't figured out yet. Since it is supported, I just have to keep trying.
