Try removing and re-installing iTunes and all other Apple software using the instructions in this Apple support document.

Not sure what OS you are running, But I fixed this problem on my Win7 PC:


After searching the web and granting permisions and changing share settings between user profiles on my PC,

the thing that finally allowed my iPad to sync:


I closed iTunes, clicked start button > all Programs > clicked iTunes folder >> RIGHT CLICK iTunes Prog icon and Run as administrator.


It was that simple. Hope it helps.
