Hi All,

I had this problem today myself, and was frustrated repeatedly by the '4002' error.

I have literally just fixed the issue by doing the following steps:

1: Go to the 'Store' tab and select 'Turn Off iTunes Match'

2: Return to the 'Store' tab and select 'Update Genius'

3: Wait for this to complete succesfully, the return to the 'Store' tab once more and select 'Turn On iTunes Match'.

4: iTunes Match will now go through the motions and should succeed!

I hope this helps

This did not work for me... It's working fine on my mac mini, but on my macbook pro its totally useless. Besides itunes match not syncing properly, the cloud icon doesn't even show up and I can't access any of my matched "in the cloud" music on this computer.

Seemed to start happening when I upgraded to 10.8.2 on the macbook pro.

Huge pain. As this is my main computer that I do most of my music stuff on so it can't upload my new tunes...

Just spoke with a support rep.

She had me turn off itunes match, turn on genius, then turn on itunes match. Didn't work for me, but apparently (as we've seen on here) this is a fix for some people.

She said that this is a known issue that they're trying to address. It seems to be more prone to happening on macbooks and macbook pros than desktops.

She said to fill out a feedback form. The more people that fill this out, the quicker the engineers will address it.
