Sep 22, 2012 8:36 AM in response to mehgamerby lllaass,Did you try everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I would also try another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

Sep 22, 2012 8:40 AM in response to mehgamerby Grumpling47,I rang Apple support and even though I had installed the latest version 10 iTunes,I was told to go to iTunes, Edit, then Preferences Devices tab, and download it again within iTunes, must be a glitch because this time it took a lot longer to update...and it worked! When you have downloaded the new version, restart your pc and go to preferences again and tick the first box. Must say, Apple Support were really good.

Sep 22, 2012 8:41 AM in response to lllaassby mehgamer,As I stated, lllaass, I tried just about everything available to me. I did try that link you added hours ago, and tried everything stated in it (most of which was just common sense, really. I already understand you have to reset stuff if they don't work) and I only have the one computer to try it on, so that's never going to help me.
Thanks for trying, anyway.

Sep 22, 2012 8:48 AM in response to mehgamerby lllaass,Does the iPod charge?
Does the computer make a sound when you connect it?
Does the iPod show up in My Computer?
Run diagnostics and see if that helps. Only be concerned about the syncing part.

Sep 22, 2012 8:53 AM in response to lllaassby mehgamer,Yes
Yes
No, just the Photo Stream
Thanks for the help, I really appreiciate it even if this doesn't work.
As for the link, all that gets me is the same "Try restarting everything and re-installing itunes" stuff, which as mentioned I've done countless times.

Sep 22, 2012 6:13 PM in response to mehgamerby mehgamer,Don't reply to thread, I just tried my brother's iPod and it had the same problem as mine, but his wasn't running iOS 6, so I know for a fact that the problem is on itune's side.
