While it is not illegal to jailbreak, it is not supported by Apple and does violate your software terms. See this support document as well. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

It is also a violation of the TOS of this forum to further discuss jailbreaking.

now jailbreaking is legal and it does void warranty but you ca just restore ur i device and you all good with the warranty.

It is not always possible to remove the jailbreak, especially if the jailbreak causes a problem. There are several posts every week that I see (and probably more that I miss) from people who jailbroke their phone and now can do nothing with them.

Why what?

Why does jailbreaking void your warranty? It voids the warranty because you are using the product in a way the manufacture did not intend. There is, for example, probably nothing illegal about attempting to use your car as a submarine. However, if the engine is destroyed by all that salt water, your car manufacturer will not be replacing it under warranty.

Or why arent' we allowed to dicusss jailbreaking here? Because this is an Apple owned site and they don't want there to be any confusion about their position on the matter. If people were to post about jailbreaking here, it might appear that Apple endorsed it.

Or why isn't grumpydude1012 ever going to jailbreak their phone? I think they already answered that.

Best of luck.
