iPhone 5 can't remember Wi-fi password

I have the same with my iPhone4 in iOS6 (don't mention, that after installing iOS6 I've lost all my data from iOS5.1!)

I can connect to my WiFi, but even after leaving the phone and block the screen phone is losing wifi connection, and the only way to connect back to Wifi is tap to my Wifi network and write password again!!!!

My iPhone 4 is doing the same as well. I also have the "unable to connect to itunes" when trying to download apps.

I can add a year to my clock (2013) and it then downloads, but all the other "fixes" are not working.

Luckily my iPhone 5 seems ok! but my partner is not happy with her 4.

Lots of people with lots of problems. Hope theres an update soon.😠

I just managed to figure out the problem here. What you have to do is manually add the network by selecting "Other..." and filling in the information instead of selecting the item from the list of networks.

I have been having this issue too and I just did the "other" route and it worked for me too! I was on the phone twice with Apple and in the store and no help.. I got my help here..

Seems like there are sure a lot of issues with the new phone and IOS. I am wondering if I should even keep mine at this point....

My iPhone 4 was the same after upgrading to IOS 6. Figured it out in the end. Go to "setting' then to 'General' then to 'Restrictions' and turn this on.

My phone finds the Network now no problem.

So Apple do we have a fix? Can you get your droids working on this? I don't want to have to screw around having restrictions on.

I was also having the password problem with my 4s since the upgrade to iOS6 but thanks to this forum, it is working now. I went to "OTHER" and filled in the information and it works every time. Someone call Apple and tell them & Verizon.

The method that worked for me and others was mentioned by POVE. I had problems obtaining an IP address from certain routers, did the reset and has worked fine since.

Go into Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.

This will cause the phone to forget the network passwords and reboot the phone, this has been successful for many, and have had no issues since doing this. I have connected to my families D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router (DIR-655) with three ios6 devices with no issues.

You might also try

Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow to the right of your network name > Renew Lease

I got the same issue. I went to Apple store genius test twice and also restored my iphone 5. It still can't remember password.

Well at least you've saved me waisting my time going to see the "genius" boffins. You know what makes Apple great and far superior to micro-soft they take the time to do things right!

Thanks so much for posting this! In the office we have an older model linksys router that had this problem w. iOS 5/6. At home my newer linksys model never had this problem.
