I was lucky and got my new phone yesterday, but the battery barely lasts. After checking my email for about 30 seconds i lose 2%. I made sure nothing was running in the background, but the drain is worse than my 3GS I just upgraded from. Any suggestions?

Im havin gthe same issue with my 4 and 4S since upgrade. It has to be a software issue as I didnt have this problem before the upgrade. Im supprised that more people are not complaining. I can literaly look at my phone and watch it drain.
I am having the same issue at a drain rate of about 10-15% per hour of stand by. Gonna discuss it with a Genius today while I'm getting AppleCare+.
I too am concerned. 100% charge this morning and was down to 13% by noon. Minimal email, texting and browsing phone settings, etc... I'm currently recharging. Hope this is a glitch and can be fixed with an update.
If you go to a apple store please let the rest of us know what is said. It's great to have a new phone and not be able to utilize it. Not!
Totally agree, i have had to charge my iPhone5 three times today. This is not good.
With the mess that is the Maps fiasco i am going to be returning my 32gb on monday. I was a huge fanboy......not any more......Steve must be spinning in his grave......
Seeing fast drain as well.
Today my phone was at 93%. I took a call that lasted 36 minutes and my battery dropped to 48%
The only thing syncing on my phone are Photos (iCloud is still restoring photo albums). all other background apps are closed and push for mail is disabled.
Definitely seeing major drainage. The phone was off the hook from 8:15am to about 12:10pm and I had to plug it in because I had less than 1/4 battery left.
It's all in your heads.
10% per 15 minutes, nothing but a few texts. No sync, no wifi, lte signal. Are some of the batteries just bad?
I guess when you install IOS6 Everything is turned on. I researched it and there is a post by Apple.

I'm experiencing the same terrible battery stats. I recall similar problems when I upgraded from the 3G to the 4. I'm guessing it's a software issue, so it likely won't get better until the next software update. It's the price we pay for being an adopters/beta testers. :)
Hi from Vancouver. Just thought I'd add my voice to the mix. Yes same exact thing happening with mine as well. It was in standby for about 3 or 4 hrs and dropped from 100% to 77%. It was almost completely dead after 6 hours of using it lightly yesterday as well. Tried a hard restart a few times too with no luck. Hopefully we'll figure it out! There must be something going on.
