There is definitely an issue with cellular. It's just crushing the battery life. Whether on LTE or 4G it doesn't make a difference. My biggest gripe is the fact that even in standby the battery drains constantly. The only way I can get somewhat decent battery life is when I'm connected to wifi all day, and it's rare I'm always connected to wifi.
I even had to spend another $35 on a second USB cable. I shouldn't have to purchase more products in order to keep this phone charged.
Tested the battery drain with standby last night. The results were horrible!
Charged phone to full 100% at 12:15am
-6.1beta4
-Wifi on
-LTE off
-Bluetooth off
-Mail set to fetch every 15 min - 8 imap accounts, 1POP
-Push off
-Location services on- camera, find friends, google maps, maps, safari, Siri, find my iPhone, cell network search, compass calibration. Everything else off.
-iCloud on- contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, documents and data(use cellular data off)
-Brightness 45%
-Notifications on
At 8:30am the battery was at 46%!!!!! The phone was never touched.
One thing I noticed, is that even though wifi was on and connected, when in standby the phone goes back to using cellular. Once you unlock the phone for 1-2seconds, the wifi kicks back in.
So, all night it was using cellular data even though wifi was supposed to be on.
Even while in standby stats showed:
Usage: 3hrs, 45min
Standby: 8hrs, 30min
Not cool!
I haven't given up on Apple, as I have purchased yet another product.(iPad mini) But, I'm losing my mind with this phone. It's also a well known issue that 6.0.2 is a battery killer. Even those who weren't noticing a drain on earlier firmwares, they are now. Heck, my dad who is computer illiterate and knows nothing about apple stuff, heard on his radio show that there was a battery problem with the new iPhone 5. There is now 6+ threads on the app forums regarding the issue, and some of these threads have tons of replies. The main two threads have over 400,000 views. That's not even taking into consideration all the other Mac and Apple blogs/forums discussion battery problems, yet when anyone contacts Apple about the issue, they deny there is a problem. That is what bothers me.
