Oct 25, 2012 7:57 AM in response to Boydfromvaby planb77,By a reset, I assume you mean you tried pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
Sometimes it can take anywhere up to a minute for the iPod to respond to the reset combination. Don't be afraid to try this more than once. Make sure the hold switch is not activated as well.
Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the iPod's battery to completely drain. Then charge it back up and see how it does. If you run into the problem again, you'll want to restore the iPod to factory settings in iTunes.
