How do I upgrade from Leopard to Mountain Lion?
Can I upgrade directly or do I have to go through Snow Leopard etc.?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

First, determine how high you can upgrade.
SL requires an Intel processor and 1 GB RAM, though more RAM is better.
Lion requires Core2Duo processor and 2 GB RAM, though more RAM is better.
Mountain Lion has higher requirements: http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Also review applications that do not work under Lion or ML to see if you will lose critical functionality: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Research first, as too many have discovered only after the upgrade that things are lost to them.
You can buy SL or Lion from 1-800-MY-APPLE. SL is a disk ($19 single disk license, $29 for 5-user license). Lion will be a $19 download code to use in App Store that you get with SL.
Thanks Steve359.
Good luck.
Hi
I want to do the same ....
But Snow Leopard is no longer on sale at the Apple store either in the US or the UK.
I also call them a couple of weeks ago and I was told it was no longer available.
Therefore, how do you upgrade from leopard to Mountain Lion when Apple no longer sell Snow Leopard.
Did you call the number above?
Another poster today reported that Apple was sending along a DVD after making the phone sale.
Steve I have just had a chat online with a apple sales/support staff
They assure me I can buy the Snow Leopard through tele sales, so I will try them again tomorrow morning as they are now closed here in the UK
Thanks
As Apple wll eventually stop selling it through telesales, consider the 5-user license disk because if you need it again later only Amazon at $100+ will be available to you.
