iMessage (inactive). cannot sign in since yesterday

iMessage is inactive. cannot sign in since yesterday.

it says "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

anyone has the same problem / or better solution?

This is what worked for me:


- Go to Preferences in Messages

- Sign in with your Apple ID (if you already haven't)

- Click on the Details button

- Enter the Apple ID password and click "View Account"

- Add a country to the location in the bottom left of the window because that's blank!

- Save

- Restart iMessage

- and boom!

I had presumed that they had done away with the Country setting in version 7.0 when Messages was updated to version 7.0.1

I notice the new spot that I was unaware of has a Email tick box that some people may want to untick.
