I have a 2G ipod touch, none of the apps i want to download will work b/c it need ios 4.3, what am i supposed to do?

So i want to download, facebook and ibooks, but i cant do that b/c it wont upgrade past 4.2.1, n this is making me really mad!!! B/c now i have an ipod touch that just gets to lay around gathering dust, i don't like to wast my money. What should i do? Is apple doing a some kind of exchange & get a discount or something? Please help!!! Thank you.

You'll need to purchase a newer iPod Touch to use those apps as your current 2G iPod Touch cannot be updated past iOS 4.2.1.

If you'd like, you can turn your current iPod in at your local Apple Store to be recycled for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one. Otherwise, you would be better off selling the iPod on Craigslist or Ebay and using the proceeds from that to purchase a newer iPod.
