iPad battery life ios6

Is anyone experiencing a reduced battery life after ios6 upgrade? I'll to be more quantitative, but I took my iPad from the charger this morning, 100%, after 7 hours of very intermittent use, that I can estimate in 3 hours at most, I have now 30% left. I was expecting 50 or more. I do always the same things and I do the day with no problems, it is no more the case.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

Took my iPad with me today as I usually do. Listened to a podcast in the car. iPad was connected to a car charger which doesn't add much to the battery but usually maintains it or has a slight drop. I had a 45 minute drive, took the iPad into work with me and didn't use it any more during thke day. When I got home a 6 pm, iPad battery was at zero. First time that has happened. On previous days like this, I came home with about 80% battery left. Upgraded to iOS 6 a couple of days ago and still can't connect to the App store from the iPad. New this. Looks like Apple needs to get an update out quickly.

+1 here

I did the iOS 6 upgrade the day it came out. I use my iPad for pretty much the same amount every day so I'm very familiar with what kind of life to expect out of my battery. With no change in my daily usage my iPad 2 is draining roughly 25-50% faster than pre-iOS 6. I've turned off everything I can with no help. Also, when using the System Status app, I can never get my Memory usage below about 50% of total. Something is DEFINITELY wrong with iOS 6.

Well so far I've spent most of the day trying to wind back to ios5.1.1....... What a knightmare!

In my household we have 3 iPads 3 iPods 2 macs an Apple TV 2x airports and 3 iPhones... My kids love you tube... And I love track my iPhone so I can track everyone's devices and use the maps daily! Now the City of Derbyshire England is just a digitised mess! And our second home in Wales is under cloud cover! I've gone from an Apple fan that has bought every device from the first iPod to someone who wants to throw it all in the rubbish bin!

Surely we have a consumer case here? Anyway id love to chat longer but got to go as my battery is about to run o

I just ran from 100% to shutoff 1-2% with 13 hours of usage and over a day and a half of standby. You can view this under iPad settings, usage now.

I have...fetch mail every 30 minutes and brightness to approx 45%. Location services is on with just twitter, Facebook, and iAds OFF. I actually get better battery with ios 6 on a third gen iPad.

Same here. However, it might be purely coincidental in my case as i had iOS5 for about two days or so, and my 1st proper overnight wall-charge plus turning off various settings (loc.services, push data etc.) happened just right before upgrading to ios6 - so i haven't much to compare with.

Last full charge went from 100% to 7% after 15h 35m intermittent use (internet mostly) and 7days 16h standby.

Update. Got a new folio case for my iPad where I can see and access the on-off switch better. Took the iPad with me today on a 6 hour trip, and did not use it. With the switch in the off position (I don't count on the magnets) when I got home I still had 100%. I keep it plugged in to my Macbook when home and although it doesn't charge much, by keeping it plugged in and using the off switch when not using it, the charge usually stays at 100%. I take tt with me during the day, and if I don't use it much and use the switch, it stays at 90 - 100 %.
