I have an iPad 2 and since downloading the latest iOS, keep getting message "connection lost" when I try to call using FaceTime. It worked perfectly before the latest update. Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this? I have no other mac product. Thanks for any help

You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Thanks Tom, have no problems connecting to the Internet with the iPad, safari is fine. Cannot understand how this has come about as I have not altered any settings on my iPad. Will try to investigate further

My issue was router based, basically, I need to upgrade to better router to get connection throughout my apartment

My problem was router based rather than an IOS issue, do find that I have to re boot my iPad a couple of times each week to re connect with my router. Not a problem with wi fi on my lap top or blackberry.
We have a new router, have tried everything.
