New operating system a bust!

I tried to update my phone to new os 6. it downloaded fine, but in the midst of installing to phone an error message "unknown error code 1602" popped up. it is now in recovery mode, and Im unable to get it out. my computer and itunes dont see it. i have uninstalled my inernet security and taken down my windows firewall. still nothing. tried to access dfu-o luck there either. Verified that my ups ports were "enhanced". Any ideas?? Did I mention my bf's iphone 4 did exactly the same thing...we now have 2 useless iphones
