Nov 18, 2012 6:14 AM in response to HaloViperby Le0G3tz,I just got the phone last week 11/13/2012. Did not have issues till yesterday 11/18/2012. I have a ciscp e4200 router that has no security but is not broacasting the SSID. my iphone 4s, iphone 4 and orginal iPad and my laptops have no issues connecting to my wireless and the speed is fast. I have reset my router I have changed settings on it. I had messed with my iphone adding the client ID , DNS etc. nothing worked until I reset the network settings on the iPhone. So am i going to have to do this every once in a while or is Apple going to send out a fix. I currently have 6.0.1.

Dec 9, 2012 8:00 AM in response to wiltadoby itunepower,I've had the same wifi issues with my new iphone 5. One suggestion I tried and it has seemed to work so far, is to turn the bluetooth on and off. Keep it off while on wifi. It has worked for me.
Good luck!

Dec 9, 2012 11:06 AM in response to wiltadoby Blade_27,I can't get speeds over 2 mbps under wi-fi unless I do a test within minutes of doing a restart. I also have to manually connect to wi-fi profiles each & every time.

Dec 9, 2012 11:38 AM in response to wiltadoby itunepower,I spoke too soon: turning off the bluetooth didn't fix the problem. I was able to connect to wifi after turning off the bluetooth, but lost my wifi connection a while later. It still shows I am connected to my network, but I can't access the internet. Looking forward to a fix...

Dec 10, 2012 3:30 PM in response to leashy79by irisfrommount sinai,Had the issue with iphone5 connecting to wi-fi. Kept saying "unable to connect" although the password was correct. Returned the phone and got a new one and this one is working. I hope it continues.

Dec 19, 2012 10:50 PM in response to irisfrommount sinaiby sarahfromDubai,Great discussion thread guys! I bought my iphone 5 from one of the 2 local network providers here in Dubai and am greatly disappointed! The restoration from Icloud was good although not all data has been restored til now even though the phone has been repeatedly connected to wifi connections throughout the week. The basic 3G/data and mobile signal is really disappointingly slow......even with a 3G network and 3 bars of signal it won't refresh internet content and takes forever to load any pages, on top of this the connectivivity to apps such as WhatsApp is ridiculous - it shows messages as received but when you go into the app it decides its not and can't connect - how is this possible? My iphone4 or 5 have sat on my desk for the past 2 years in the same offices - the first in an office which is an internal office, within a concrete construction and no outside walls or windows.....full signal all the time.....and the iphone 5 is now sat on my desk on the 14th floor of a high rise with a window within 20 metres..............additionally there is then the battery life issue.......although this was also present in iphone 4 I would at least be able to get through from 6.30am until about 6pm on one full charge depending on usage.......now - my iphone from 6.45 this morning and a full charge until now - no calls or sms only maintaining network connection and a few whatapp messages......I'm down to 50% battery life.......oh and its 10.51am.....Looking at the apple info on the same - on standby 225 hours....hahahahahahahahah!
I have the same issues as others at home with my wifi - I'm using a cisco router which works perfectly and without issue for my macbook, ipad2 and iphone 4s.......but not my iphone 5??? side by side with the others, in the same room as the router and it gets 50% less signal......go figure! I will try the various suggestions here for correcting this and hope that one works...if not (as is my suspicion) that although promised faithfully by the vendor that the phone is factory unlocked and untouched......I am 99.9% sure they have some software or something installed that is causing these issues....either from the point of provision of 3G network and "managing" the network to registered iphone 5 users or something in the phone that blocks the wifi connectivity. If I cant fix it, it will go back to the vendor for a full refund and then either purchase from apple direct or pay more and go to another source.
very frustrating!
