After iOS 6 update, Safari sometimes hangs or aborts

I have experienced the same problem. Not just with safari, but in general. My new iPad has become very slow and the key responses have turned very leggy.

I really regret upgrading to iOS 6

I too have the same problems :( i try to downgrade to ios 5 but is impossible.

Me too. Happens on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Trying to get us to upgrade??

Try a reset:

1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together)

2. For about 10 seconds

3. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

That was the first thing I tried when I noticed the sluggishness and safari issues.

Apple please help!! I've noticed the same thing on my iPhone 5 and iPad 2. Every time I try to view the desktop version of Facebook on either the iPhone 5 or iPad 2, it gets hung up to the point where I have to clear the cache to reset safari. This has got to be a bug in iOS 6!!! I do a lot of business on Facebook and there are certain aspects of the site that are only available through the desktop version. Again I ask... Apple please help!

I reinstalled ios 6 and now works properly. 🙂

How did you re-install iOS 6?

My wife and I had the same problem on our New iPad (32GB 4G). Safari hangs up when loading certain websites. The lady next to us in the Coco's this morning was having a similar problem. I asked her if she'd just upgraded to ios 6 - yep. Seems like more than coincidence. I also perceive less responsiviness to touch, compared to our old iPad 1.

Update: After 4 restores, Safari seems to be working great again. The wife hasn't gotten hung up in a day and a half, so I'm crossing my fingers it stays that way :-)

Yes, I am experiencing same problem. When is Apple going to fix it? Rebooting doesn't work. Can't change Safari edition, can' find anything to help fix Facebook problem, and spinning and locking up on Facebook just keeps happening. If Apple is going to fix the problem how about fixing it "NOW"!

I am experiencing the same issue....notice people say reinstall iO6 can anyone tell me how to do that please?

My wife and I are having the same problems. We thought it was our WiFi, but when we bring up the Google Chrome browser it works just fine and faster than Safari. Apple needs to fix this because it's getting annoying.

I have same issue with safari on my iphone5, it hangs everytime, this is really annoying. I'm surprised why apple is not doing anything to fix this issue.
