Apr 6, 2006 10:39 AM in response to swanusaby Glorfindeal,You can go to a apple service center like CompUSA and have them install one for you. If you buy the drive from them, they will install it for free, otherwise it is like a 40 dollar charge. DO NOT attempt to install it yourself, not only will you void your warranty, the intel iMac is very difficult to open and work on and you will probably break something.

Apr 6, 2006 11:25 AM in response to Glorfindealby swanusa,Thanks for your replies! Where can I get hard drives compatible for i-macs and the ones which won't void warranty. -
Apr 6, 2006 1:55 PM in response to swanusaby Glorfindeal,That's correct. As long as a certified apple service center installs the drive, it doesn't void the warranty on the computer. If something happens to the new drive though, it is not covered by applecare but by the manufacturer's warranty. I'm not too concerned with this since nowadays, hard drives will easily outlast the computer.
