Q: Have just updated to 6.0, now won't recognize SIM, what next?

Have just updated to iOS 6. When update completed the No SIM icon activated. Have tried to restore settings, but no help. now at a point that when I try to power up it won't activate due to not recognizing the SIM. SIM has been checked.
