Just got laptop last week and never used DVD player before on this machine ... all my info was brought over by apple store for my old machine that the mother board had Nvidea issue problem. Any thoughs on how to get program to work?

Hey to Apple workers out there working on the most recent updates for mountain Lion. I just got a 13" Macbook Pro 9,2; 2 weeks ago I tried a DVD in My laptop tonight and the DVD player.app would start to boot and crash. This should not happen on the first time using the dvd drive please help us. Thank you.
P.S. - I downloaded a third party app and it is currently utilizing the disc drive, so something is wrong with the dvd.app in the recent 10.8.2
DVD Player-10.8.2 Crashes on startup??? Can anyone help?
