There is an album called "Recovered Photos".
They are anomalies that iPhoto finds - perhaps due to a glitched import process. You don't have to keep them, unless you want those photos of course.
They could be orphanded photos
Those are pictures that is in the iPhoto file, but not displaying in iphoto.
If you want a better breakdown let me know, its kind of wordy
