Q: Getting the new @icloud.com email address
I am an existing iCloud user, with a @me.com iCloud address issued to me in iOS 5.
However with the introduction of iOS 6, Apple introduced the @icloud.com email address. You can check it through their iCloud site (http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html) below pointer number 3.
So they said existing users would also get their new @icloud.com addresses that are same as the @me.com addresses.
However when following their instructions, to enable Mail in iCloud settings (by disabling and enabling), I do not receive any on-screen instructions. I still do not receive my @icloud.com email address.
Even when I got my iPhone 5 and activated my existing iCloud account, it still shows up as a @me.com address and does not provide me a @icloud.com address.
Any one facing the same problems? How can I solve the issue?
Thank you.

Not that I know of. I've seen posts from some users that have the @icloud.com address too but it isn't active for them yet either. When it comes, It will be added as a second account account; you will keep the @me.com address. The @me.com address should work now. To make this the default and start using it, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Mail section and tap Default Account and select your @me.com addtess.
