both will do the job for your.
the macbook air having a better resolution than the 13 Inch Macbook Pro.
the macbook air is lighter but not by much if comparing to a 13 Inch Macbook Pro.
the macbook pro however, comes with an optical drive and the macbook air does not.
the macbook pro's memory is upgradeable and the macbook air's memory is fixed.
the best solution for you, go to the apple store or best buy and compare them side by side.
i own 2 macbook pros - a 13 inch and 15 inch - upgraded the RAM to 16GB in both of them and took the hard drive off and installed SSDs in them. Now I have a very fast Macbook Pro.
Given the narrow parameters of your post, the Pro would probably be better suited for your task. The main criteria for video editing being processor and memory performance. The Pro can be configured for superior performance in any category for video editing which might require it. The Air is suitable where it's strengths are valued above those of the Pro.
Durability? What kind? Physical, as in drop, or in wear?
If money is not an issue go with the retina version of the MacBook Pro and solid state hard drives. Many people over look the benefits of the solid state hard drive. My MacBook Air accesses dat rather quickly due to its sshd. So if you combine the sshd, retina display, and faster processor of the Pro you would have a very nice video editing system.
