I am unable to update any Mountain Lion software due to this error.
This is very frustrating as I have already reinstalled the OSX via recovery. All permissions are correct, and I'm not sure what else to try.

in some cases it seems to be a language problem. As Aperture for example should be "updateable" in general, a german version for the update does not seem to be available as of now. Same with the Safari 6.0.2 update. Available in english but not in german. Although the RAW-Compatibility Update IS available from the german Support-Website. If you install it "manually" it disappears from the Mac Store Items to be updated.
My conclusion: Just wait until the localized versions are available at their respective language-sites at Apple. I'm sure the automagic update will work then. ;-)

Same issue here too - but I assume that best is to wait to see if Apple fixes it first. I assume it will be done. Still, I was quite surprised, since such issues with Apple's own updates are unusual and can be perplexing.
I get the same message: (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102) but I have no idea what it means. I followed some of the links and could download Safari but it wouldn't download iPhoto. Having said that ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion I have had issues updating.
Jesus, who have Apple got working on their software these days? Winged monkeys?
Between this, iOS and the Apple TV, nothing in my place is working as it should.
Certainly not as slick as they used to be, Apple.
I also got this error when trying to update Safari & Aperture through the App Store.
I did get rid of the error by quitting the App Store, then launching Activity Monitor and using that to kill the process called "storeagent". After that, restarted the App Store, tried to update again, and it seems to be working fine now....

Shame on Apple for not fixing this bug. Its great to have useable, highly integrated and ergonomic software but it doesn't matter much if it does not work. Hire some software engineers.
By the way, it sseems that the bug has been fixed by now: without doing anything, without logging out, about 30 minutes ago, suddenly the App Store started working properly, and I could update without any problem. I am now on Safari 6.2.
Do other users still encounter the problem, or can we consider it as fixed?
I contacted Apple about this issue back in October when I first had this problem, they determined that it was an Apple Server issue.
It's happened again. So, either its my computer or, its Apple Servers once again.
Apple really needs to get it together.
My iphone would not load facebook up on wifi(all other apps worked fine but facebook stopped loading in safari wed browser And my moms lap top modzilla but other sites worked but worked on my 3g connection. AFTER HOURS of seraching and almost destroying my router (literally) i found a solution: i changed the server used by my router manually by adding the DNS from google and everything started working :)...for now :/ credit to this guy for the suggestion >
