Notes App Keeps Making Recovered Items Folder

The Notes 1.1 app on my iMac keeps creating a Recovered Items folder under "On My Mac" whenever I launch it, putting a duplicate in it of whatever note I was viewing under "iCloud" when I closed the app.

Why is this happening? It's very annoying.

Same here on 10.8.2. Today for example, one note duplicated itself 23 times. This is how it happened:

I noticed that the Notes app menu bar said "offline". I have no idea why, I was definitely online (connected via Ethernet). Then I closed the Notes app and reopened it. Then the word "offline" had disapperaed, and 23 duplicate notes were created of a note I had recently edited.
